12/29/2023 0 Comments Trickster poe![]() ![]() ![]() Patient reaper: The %inc dot is negligible. The +1 frenzy charge is a sweet bonus on the side. If you don't want to use a skill gem, then you need to sacrifice one of your gear slots for a usually shitty unique, or you might not even have the option to do that because your builds requires something else in that spot. (Herald of ice and blade vortex are the two most popular options for it iirc, but each have their own problems with the skill). Oh, and you need to make sure your main skill freezes enemies. Aside from the fact they take a skill gem slot, blood rage disables your energy shield regen, poacher's takes your curse slot, having to use frenzy cuts your dps (and you might not have the accuracy to use it decently if you're not an attack build), and ice bite requires a support skill gem slot, which you don't want on your main skill, relegating it to being used on a support skill that deals damage (so now you need to include that in your build as well), lands the killing blow, and activates frequently enough. Swift killer: Skills that provide frenzy charge on kill are frenzy, poacher's mark, ice bite and blood rage. With that rant over, here's a more indepth look at trickster's nodes: I guess what I'm trying to say is, trickster is less of an ascendancy you take a functioning build, slap an ascendancy into, swap around some passives and gear and you're good to go it's an ascendancy that sits at the core of your build and you have to design around. The thing is, with things like shadow or slayer, it just works if you use the appropriate stuff (crits/2h) because the buffs are very generic and make your build "better" regardless of what stage of progression you are at in the build. Too many people just go "x is cool" and pick an ascendancy. Consider that an ascendancy is one of the larger parts of what makes a build if you pick and ascendancy that does nothing that you need, and then go and complain it's useless, then that's entirely on you. Trickster falls into the defensive/utility archetype.
